The future energy island in the North Sea

Princess Elisabeth Island is a major expansion of the electricity grid in the North Sea. It will connect new offshore wind farms to the mainland and enable electricity trading with the United Kingdom and Denmark.

The island will be located approximately 45 kilometers off the Belgian coast. Above the waterline, it will cover around 12 hectares—equivalent to about 24 football fields
